Critical raw material project is the CRMA’s project-scope term for facilities connected to critical raw materials. It can cover a new facility, a significant extension or a repurposing of an existing facility, but only where the facility is active in extraction, processing or recycling of critical raw materials.
This page is anchored in CRMA Article 2, point 14. The definition identifies the project object and activity scope; it is not an automatic strategic project designation or a general label for any mining, recycling or battery-supply-chain initiative.

Use critical raw material project when classifying project-level evidence around facilities, extensions or repurposing plans in CRMA-relevant extraction, processing or recycling. It is useful before moving into separate questions about strategic-project status, permitting, project promoters or capacity contribution.
Project terminology is easy to overstate. A critical raw material project tells you that a planned or changed facility sits in the CRMA extraction, processing or recycling scope for critical raw materials; it does not by itself prove priority status, permit approval, sustainability performance or compliance readiness.
