Shenzhen Precise Testing Technology Co., Ltd. (PTL) partners with Minespider
- This strategic partnership aimed to simplify compliance with EU Battery Regulation for Chinese producers and streamline communication between the EU and Chinese battery market players
11 November 2024, Shenzhen, People's Republic of China/Berlin, Germany - Shenzhen Precise Testing Technology Co., Ltd. (PTL), one of the leading battery testing and certification companies from China, announced its partnership with Minespider, a technology company offering a blockchain-based traceability platform and EU-compliant battery passports. The partnership aimed at simplifying compliance for Chinese battery manufacturers and market players with EU Battery Regulation, as well as streamlining the flow of batteries between Europe and China. Besides that, Minespider joined the Global Battery Alliance to work with PTL on Battery Passport pilot within the GBA.From February 2027, all electric vehicle (EV) batteries, light means of transport (LMT) batteries, and industrial batteries exceeding 2kWh must have a Battery Passport in order to enter the European market.
Being one of the global leaders in the battery testing business, PTL is actively participating in Battery Passport initiatives and developing “Battery Passport Guidelines" to simplify collaboration between Chinese and European market players.Being an expert in traceability and providing digital product passports for mineral supply chains, Minespider entered the battery market in 2021. The company introduced its Battery Passport based on blockchain to support OEMs and battery producers with simplified collection and exchange of critical data about EV batteries so they can easily comply with the EU and other upcoming battery regulations. The Battery Passport is designed specifically to address the requirements of the EU regulation and includes information on the battery type, chemistry and performance details, as well as sustainability data. Minespider works with industry-leading companies from the EV battery market, including Ford Otosan, Renault and TEMSA. Minespider is also a part of the European Battery Alliance (EBA) and the EU Commission’s funded project BATRAW, aimed to find new technological ways to recycle critical minerals from EV batteries, as well as the Recirculate project, focused on the creation of a battery materials marketplace and enhancing the circular economy.
"Our collaboration with PTL marks a crucial moment in streamlining compliance for Chinese battery market players entering and operating within the EU. Battery regulation is complex and many points are yet to be fully clarified, with much uncertainty in place. At the same time, battery passports are the future. Each global battery market player will have to have a battery passport and enable seamless communication of important battery data across the supply chain. With the regulatory landscape evolving rapidly, this partnership couldn't come at a better time. The journey towards compliance begins now, and together, we are ready to lead the way." - Nathan Williams, Founder and CEO of Minespider commented.
“Aiming at establishing a ”One-Stop and Comprehensive New Energy Testing and Certification Service Platform", PTL has been helping the battery industry in China with understanding the new EU regulatory requirements and battery passport. We know the pain point of the industry to meet the international regulatory requirement and spare no effort in helping our customers to meet such requirement. That is the key reason for the partnership between PTL and Minespider. The collaboration will combine the capabilities and expertise of both sides to provide the best battery-passport related services and solutions to the Chinese battery value chain”- Dr. Huiyong Xu, Founder and CEO of PTL commented.
